Troubleshooting by Manufacturer/OS

1. On your desktop, open the Start Menu and click Settings (gear icon).

2. Go to Privacy or Privacy & Security → Camera.

3. Turn on the option to Allow apps to access your camera.

Your laptop may have disabled the camera function. If so, enable it as follows:

1. Press fn + F6 at the same time (note: the function key may differ depending on your PC, so try F1–F12 one by one).

2. Press the button with a webcam icon.

3. Refer to your PC user manual to enable the webcam function.

1. In the taskbar search box, search for Device Manager and open it.

2. Find Camera and right-click it.

3. Select Update driver.

4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

   • If Windows cannot find a new driver, check your device manufacturer’s website and follow their instructions.

1. On your desktop, open the Start Menu and click Settings (gear icon).

2. Go to Privacy → Microphone.

3. Turn on the option to Allow apps to access your microphone.

If microphone access is not allowed or the microphone is not working properly, the camera connection will fail.

1. On your desktop, search for Sound in the Start Menu and open it.

2. Under Input, check that the correct microphone is selected.

3. Make some noise to test the microphone, and confirm that the blue bar moves in response.

1. Go to Apple Menu → System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy.

2. Select Camera, then check the box next to Chrome.

3. Select Microphone, then check the box next to Chrome.

Samsung PCs come with built-in security programs such as Samsung Security and Samsung Settings. Please check your camera/microphone security settings in these apps.

Search for “samsung” in the Windows Start Menu, then open Samsung Security or Samsung Settings.

• Set Block Recording to Off.

• In Security and Privacy, disable the camera/microphone blocking option.If you are using an older version, go to Privacy Protection and set Recording/Audio Blocking to Low.

• If you see a camera icon with an X mark in the webcam view, click Change Camera to switch to another camera.

• LG laptops include a Secure Mode feature that blocks the use of the camera and microphone to enhance security and protect privacy.

• If Secure Mode is enabled, you may not be able to use the camera.

  Press Fn + F4 on your keyboard to turn Secure Mode Off.

  

• If the video area shows a gray image when connecting the camera on a Lenovo PC, try the following steps:

• Refer to the image above to check the status of the camera slider (ThinkShutter).

• If the slider is closed, open it.

• Check if your keyboard has a camera function key similar to the image above. (On some PCs, it may not be the F8 key but another function key.)

• Press the function key together with Fn, or press it alone, to see if the camera works properly.

• To confirm whether your system has a camera key, search your user manual for function key or camera.

1. Go to https://support.lenovo.com.

2. Enter your serial number or model information, then click Search to find your device.

3. From the left menu, click Drivers & Software.

4. Install the appropriate driver and restart your device.

• Check if your laptop keyboard has an F10 camera hotkey.

• Press F10 or Fn + F10 (depending on the selected hotkey option), and check if a Camera On message appears on the screen.
